The Alpina Bahn (Originally Himalayan Bahn) was designed and constructed by Anton Schwarzkopf in 1983 for Oscar Bruch as the world's largest portable roller coaster. The Himalayan Bahn received a face lift and was renamed the Alpina Bahn (Alpine Coaster) in 1998. It is just one of the awesome portable roller coasters you can experience at the Oktoberfest in Munich.
Although Oktoberfest is known as the largest beer festival in the world, it is in fact much more than just a beer festival. Oktoberfest is a fair for the people, a celebration of life. Revelers of all ages come from around the world to eat the food, watch the parades, ride the rides, and yes, of course, drink liters of the greatest German beer.
