Here are a few things everyone should know about Oktoberfest Beer Tents and Reservations before heading to Munich:
- Entrance to the Oktoberfest is FREE. Cash in Euros is needed for everything else.
- A reservation is for a reserved table in a tent, NOT an all-you-can-drink pass.
- You may purchase additional food and beverages from your server at an additional charge. Remember to tip your server; they determine how fast your glass is refilled.
- One Oktoberfest Tent Reservation per person is provided per 3 or 4-night accommodation package. Date, time and tent cannot be guaranteed.
- Be on time for your reservation. Your table will be given away if you're late.
- Be aware of online sites selling overpriced reservations or "tickets" to Oktoberfest. This practice is Not Tolerated and the tent may refuse to honor the reservation.
- You may enter any Oktoberfest Tent you like without a reservation, as long as the tent is not full. Every tent has seating that is never reserved.
- You have to be seated to be served. Find an empty spot at a table and ask if that place is taken. Order a beer and join the fun with your new friends.
- Most tents have additional seating in an outdoor Beer Garden.
- You will have a GREAT time in any tent; large or small, old or new.
